Feature: Cocentra: Gateway website
September 2005 | http://www.cocentra.info/gateway
Cocentra are one of the country's leading providers of education services to schools, colleges and LEAs.
Having worked together on smaller projects, Cocentra commissioned WebImperative to e-enable some of their key products and to create a Portal for their clients.
The completed Gateway website allows Cocentra's clients to commission surveys, manage participants, monitor progress and analyse results. It also allows schools to complete their draft Ofsted Self Evaluation Form online, with model texts and links to relevant survey analysis to aid the process.
For Cocentra, the site offers many new tools and automates several features which used to require significant manual effort.
Key features of our work on this site:
- implementation of a fresh, brand-compliant design
- the site is built in such a way as to allow easy updates of menu systems and other content
- clients can sign up online
- Cocentra can manage new clients and track survey completion progress
- Cocentra can easily add and edit survey questions, create new survey templates and tailor surveys to clients needs
- auto-generation of participant usernames and passwords and batch import of user details
- offline surveys can still be run, with an interface to allow results to be imported
- Cocentra consultants can create reports online via WYSIWYG editors which can then be exported to Word
- Heads can select if reports are visible to staff, parents and pupils on their respective portal pages

"Having worked with WebImperative on smaller projects, we were comfortable asking them to work on our new Gateway website, a core part of Cocentra's future. WebImperative guided us through the elements of website and database design, site flow and server setup. The completed Gateway website now automates features which used to require significant manual effort. As always, WebImperative offered a 'can-do' approach at an affordable price and we are exceedingly pleased with the end product."
