Feature: Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund
July 2004 | www.theworkcontinues.org
The Memorial Fund started with the donations made at the time of the Princess's death in 1997. Several years on, they have built a global humanitarian organisation, creating a living memorial to Diana, Princess of Wales.
As the 'official' Diana website, they receive many thousands of visits a week. Conscious that their site was unfriendly to people with visual and mobility impairments, they contacted WebImperative to put in place all the necessary accessibility code to get them to meet legal requirements and beyond, so that they could become a beacon site.
Not only have WebImperative added the necessary accessibility features, we have also:
- implemented an updated design
- added a CMS to allow Fund staff to easily update News, Event and Grants information
- built the site in such a way as to allow easy updates of menu systems and other content
- sourced suitable imagery

"Given that our site receives thousands of visits a month, we were keen for it to be as accessible as possible.
WebImperative guided us through the requirements of the legislation and recommendations of bodies like the RNIB. We also now have a CMS to control news and events, making our site that bit more dynamic.
We're delighted with the end product and would not hesitate to recommend WebImperative."
